Leopard print eye makeup

Here's a fun makeup idea. Leopard print is so fun and virtually impossible to mess up!!

I did this leopard print eye makeup one night before a date dash. I just picked my colors and went for it.

basically just do a light base coat and fill in the crease lightly with a darker color like gray or black. Then pick a vibrant bright color (I chose aqua) and put different sized spots all over. Then use black eyeliner to outline the bright spots with two "C"-shaped marks.

Try it this weekend and send me a picture like my friend Mallory!! She did hers a little different than mine and it turned out perfect!

Camera phones have come a long way and can be used in so many ways to capture all kinds of interesting shots.

I like how this one turned out. It was not planned or posed, I was actually just taking a pic of my extensions to send to someone and loved how it came out (the background could be better...haha but that's what makes it interesting right?!)

$1 Flip Flop Haul!!

It was $1 flip flop day on Saturday and this frugal shopper was up and in line by 6:45 a.m.

Sounds a wee bit crazy but I wasn't the only early bird who showed up, I was actually about the 60th person in line when I arrived, and about 40 more people showed up behind me before the doors were opened. (heres a picture of the line when I arrived)

And here's what i got for just $5 bucks!!

This wasn't Old Navy's first rodeo and I was pleased by how they had set-up the event. There were huge bins scattered around the store separated by size for us to sort through- and i must say, it was relatively stress free (I was in and out in less than 10 mins).

Daily Inspiration 5/24

Today's daily inspiration is a very special one to me. It is my good friend Rachel Sandler. Rachel has been battling cancer for the last 6 months now, and she needs our strength and prayers to help her kick this thing's butt!!


I met Rachel a few years ago, our sophomore yr in college and was so excited every time she was around after that because you always knew you would be having fun or absolutely crying of laughter from her outrageous stories.

Hannah, Kevin and I have been lucky enough to see Rachel over the course of these past few difficult months and are always so moved by how strong she is! It's always the same ole' smiling, positive, silly girl we all love. She is so lucky to have the support system that she has- her family has always been so welcoming and accommodating to us on any weekend we want to see her and her friends are constantly texting, calling, facebooking her with supportive words as well.



We had a BBQ and a fun little reunion on Sat!


We're special!! :)

Dayglo San Diego *Date Changed*

It's no secret that I lovvvve San Diego!!!!! I try to make a trip out every couple months to visit my best friend Mallory and all the other amazing people I have met over the last five years on my countless visits to the Whales Vagina.

San Diego is the hotspot for 4th of July weekend every year and this year will be no different!! Last year I was drinking on the beach and partying in mansions in PB, actually a pretty typical weekend for many 4th of Julyers in San Diego.

This year, aside from the usual bbqs and binge drinking, there will also be a huge event that weekend!! It's called DayGlow!! We actually just had a similar event here in Tucson and it looked like a blast- people were absolutely covered in paint by the time they left so be prepared for that!!!

The amplified access crew is sure to put on another spectacular show this summer so check it out asap! The event is *now August 28*

This weekend I will be shopping at target with printable target coupons as well as mobile specials paired with in-store deals to get some serious savings!! I will not be leaving the store with 4 carts full of stuff but rather i will be buying just a few things that I want on super sale!!!

Daily Inspiration 5/15

For me, inspiration comes in many forms. I'm very inspired by nature (among many other things) and with my love of photography, I find myself taking lots of landscape photos.

In my 'daily inspiration' posts, I'll be sharing original photos of things that I come across everyday which inspire me (all captured on my handy iPhone camera, it's no dslr camera but it's pretty legit)

This next series of photos were indeed taken on my iPhone (my old gen.3 actually and still turned out pretty fabulous) about two years ago on a reallllllly foggy morning.

These were taken in Sacramento, at the end of my street at home.

Also notice the faint colors of the sunrise, these were taken at around 4-5 a.m. - the perfect lighting.

Driving was hard, taking pics at the same time was even harder....

This last one is my favorite, just kind of eerie and cool.

Square

It's so funny when you first hear about something cool and then all of a sudden your life suddenly revolves around it.. Well kinda

I first saw the Square last week at a small boutique where the employees were using their iPhones as the store's register. One week later my roommate Kevin comes home with one. His brother Drew was actually interning for the Square app and Drew had one onhand for us to try out!!

The App is free to iPhone and android users. Once you sign up, they send you the square in the mail- also free. They earn their money by taking 2% off each transaction, which doesn't seem too bad.

Also note that this app is linked directly to your bank account and keeps logs of transaction location, so it should be used for "legitimate" purposes.. Kevin owes me 10 bucks, I'll let you know how it works! :)

Salon Effects

so I've tried these before and I really loved them! the box comes with 16 polish strips and I quickly found out that each strip could be used on two nails. After breaking one or two and then finishing my nails, I still had about 8 strips left which I put away to use another time.( I later found out that the strips will dry out and not work if left out like that, side note)

this flower is actually my failed attempt at knitting a scarf. It wasn't so pretty at first but now- it's just so darn cute

the strips also take about 30 mins to put on, and although it sounds somewhat tedious, the extra time spent and effort will pay off and you'll be able to rock these beauties for 10+ days!!!

H&M Dress

so I have to admit, I've never really been a huge H&M fan...until recently!


Just this week I found the perfect little summer dress. I liked it so much I bought it in 3 colors! (Although they had like 8 different colors and I was tempted to buy them all) :)

Best of all it was completely affordable cuz these fun, light dresses were only $13 bucks each! WOOHOO

Room

The first room that I decorated and picked out furniture completely on my own!!

I'm not exactly sure what I would call this style.. I submitted these pictures to HGTV.com for others viewers to judge about two years ago, and got mixed reviews. one person said that there were too many colors going on, but I love this room and don't really care.

Plus, helllloo it's suppose to be a fun, young, college room...not professionally decorated, but I did my best :)

Dogs

Ive already put this on Facebook but this is my favorite picture of my girls!! I took the original picture of them about 2 years ago in my living room at home. Then I got this iPhone paint app and painted them! I love how it turned out!!

Toms

OK so maybe I went a little online shoe-shopping crazy this week...just a few hours after recieving my Reeboks in the mail, my TOMS showed up!!

If you happen to live under a rock somewhere and havent heard about Toms, then I'll give you a quick rundown. Toms shoes is a great organization that donates a pair of shoes to a child in need with every pair purchased. So although I paid a somewhat hefty $50 bucks, I can feel better knowing that I was also helping a needy child.


I opted for the Ash gray color because they will go with everything and it's just MY color (as you may have noticed with my Reeboks). Maybe two pairs of gray shoes in one day is a little much or even just plain boring, but being the shoe addict I am, I am content!!

Toms has all sorts of colors and specially designed shoes to pick from on their website that you won't be able to find in stores!

Reebok EasyTone

My new Reebok EasyTone (custom designed by yours truly)

I just got my Custom Reebok Easytones in the mail this morning and have been wearing them for the last two hours already! I absolutely love them! I'm so glad that I went into Lady Footlocker to try them on beforehand because A). Custom orders cannot be returned and B). I turned out to be an 8 instead of my usual 8.5, so that would be my one recommendation: try before you buy.

Otherwise, the colors turned out to be exactly as I imagined and they shipped a lot faster than expected. Thus making me one happy customer!

I had so much fun designing these shoes! You can go on the Reebok.com website and customize every detail of the shoe to fit your style. These ones are sooo me!! :)

Update: I've been wearing them all day around campus and definitely feel the burn!
